Having attended the funeral of a 47 year old mother of 3
today,
I'm feeling like life isn't always pretty.
Sometimes there's the barbed wire.
Hoping the family finds strength,
and that there is beauty and growth in
the barbed wire.

ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful photograph. I am sorry to hear about the events of the day...sounds very sad. Here's sending some strength your way!
ReplyDeleteSo sad and symbolic at the same time. Sorry for the loss. That's tragic.
ReplyDeleteI really like the angle you took. Good eye.
such a beautiful shot, so sad but so poignant. Saw you on macro friday and recognised you from picture summer and sunday creative, small world!
ReplyDeleteYou definitely know how to make barbed wire look pretty! So sorry about the funeral.
ReplyDeleteI have been using lightroom 2 for a few months and really love it, I have never been able to get my head around photoshop and I love the simplicity of lightroom. 3 seems great although I have only had it for 2 days! I shoot in raw and find it great for that and just use the basics - contrast and sharpen - hope that helps.
ReplyDeletesounds like a really tough day :( Great use of the picture.
ReplyDeletePraying for the family.. Love the symbolic photo.. and additonaly itis a great photo. Well done. If it were my pick.. I would be picking this as the winner.
ReplyDeletePrayers are with that family...
ReplyDeleteYour photo is beautiful, as is the symbolism

ReplyDeleteA photo to make you stop and think as a death of someone so young can't help you do either. Sincere sympathies...
ReplyDeleteI too agree...
ReplyDeletegreat interpretation / fabulous
shot / intense color / very
real emotion.
Thank you for sharing personal
side of it all too ~j.
So sorry to hear about the funeral :(
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend's aunt and baby cousin died about a month ago leaving 3 little children, so I can relate to the pain and sorrow.
Your photo is beautiful, though, and I love that you gave it so much meaning.
This is a wonderful picture - I really love the depth of field and the perspective. The bright background gives the photos an element of hope - hopefully the green will soon cover over the barbs and you and your friends family will move through the grief.
ReplyDeleteHow sad, sorry to hear this.
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous image! And I can totally feel the "raw" emotion behind it!
ReplyDeletesounds like a rough day. you really captured the emotion in that photo. and i love the depth of field.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how you feel - 2 weeks ago, my friend burried her 29 year old son - and looking at that family reminds me of your photo. Raw indeed.
